Shannon was taken from us way too soon by a drunk driver. He died doing what he did best helping others before himself, a relative said. The worst fault that he had was trying to make other people happy, said Sheila Lacey, Shannon's mother. "He always put whatever plans he had aside for others." Sheila Lacey said Shannon Lacey who had two sons, Ethan, 9, and Corbin, 13 never wanted to disappoint people and always shifted his personal plans to suit others. The boys spent a lot of time fishing and swimming with their father, she said. Sheila Lacey said: "It's a very sad thing. My son died trying to help someone else, and that sums up his life. The way he died didn't surprise me in the least bit."
